Prayer – The Key To Everything

There is nothing more critical for the born-again believer than prayer.

It is the ultimate form of humbling ourselves before our heavenly Father, where we find intimacy with Him that cannot be found any other way. There are many books on prayer, how to pray, when to pray, keys to effective prayer, and more.

However, I firmly believe that we learn to pray WHEN WE PRAY and not by reading more books about prayer or listening to more teachings about prayer. Prayer challenges our hearts, priorities, carnality, and flesh. It takes commitment to pray daily. But it starts with Proverbs 23:26, which says, “My son, give me your heart, and let your eyes observe my ways.” Who has your heart?

When we give Him our whole heart, we will find ourselves making time to spend with Him in prayer. This is also true for congregational or corporate prayer. For years, churches held weekly congregational prayer meetings and posted the schedule on their church signs. Churches stopped having them because very few would come. The number in attendance is not essential. Praying is. Many great revivals started with just a few people praying, and we still talk about the impact of those revivals and awakenings today.

Let’s commit to pray and pray corporately. Give yourself to prayer and make your church a house of prayer. God wants to spend time with you, listen to and talk with you. Acts 6:4: “But we will give ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the word.” We must do the same at this critical time in history.

Psalm 27:8 says, When you said to me, “Seek My face,” My heart said to you, “Your face, Lord, I will seek.” Seek Him today, and you will find Him.
